SeaEdge UK1 is data centre asset and subsea fibre landing station, located on the UK’s largest data centre campus in Newcastle.
Data centre operator, Stellium Data Centres Ltd, occupies and operates the asset via a 25-year occupational lease.
SeaEdge UK1 is the UK’s only landing point for the new North Sea Connect cable, part of the North Atlantic Loop subsea network with AEC-1 and AEC-2, both owned and operated by D9’s cornerstone subsea fibre platform Aqua Comms. The landing station is also used to connect the NO-UK subsea cable (operated by Aqua Comms), connecting Alitbox Carrier’s Norwegian network to the North East of England.
